About the Event
For the past two centuries, immigrants from East Asia, Southern Asia, Western, Central and Southeast Asia have journeyed to Canada, bringing a rich cultural heritage representing many languages, ethnicities, and religious traditions. This community's diverse and vibrant members have made significant contributions to every aspect of life in Canada, including the arts, science, sports, business, and government. Unfortunately, these individuals have also faced the devastating reality of anti-Asian racism while settling into Canadian society. Asian Heritage Month offers all Canadians an opportunity to learn more about the history of Canadians of Asian heritage and to honor their contributions to the growth and prosperity of the country. Please join us in this panel discussion, where key members of the Asian community will share their insights and experiences on how we can build allyship and identify strategies to address anti-Asian racism. By working together, we can create a just, harmonious, and sustainable community where everyone feels valued and respected.
